GENERAL NOTE: much thanks patience, time short, see cover images--these are trials, absent text, can only use one, there are....many. Very difficult, this cover thing.

GENERAL NOTE: REMINDER--VERY IMPORTANT--

------------------BEFORE PUBLICATION------------

1. I will post a 'very rapid' series of updates, up to 99.5 percent entire story/book.

2. Those updates will not stay up for 'very long.'

3. Before publication I have to co-ordinate moving this thread to book section/members only with moderators. This is not a simple process--what remains here in public will have to be edited/adjusted/measure to fit AMZ and other TOS.

4. Before publication I have to 'test' text/cover on AMZ/kindle interface. Because of formatting/titling/length/chapter headings/and etc. this book does not 'fit' in some respects--this will require some adjustments.

5. Other relevant issues will appear here shortly.

6. Getting very very close. Understand close to everyone here is days/maybe soon, hours. For me 'close' is a percentage of....three years.
But there is very little left to do, although some of that is difficult. VERY CLOSE.

7. See below cover mock-ups/backgrounds. Some version of these are in the running. Working on cover tonight.

Excellent story, thank you for your work. That "stars" cover art really appeals to me. Good fortunes to you on publishing this.

When this thread is moved to The Darkside books section, the book will be available shortly thereafter...

It looks like the Blue and Star portion of a a US flag that is being blown fiercely by a storm. Kind of goes along with the theme of the book.

Yes, both are amazing. Prefer a to b. Truly a good look.

GENERAL NOTE: very close. IF/WHEN I post an actual date/deadline--that means the book has already "loaded"/passed all AMZ/Kindle "tests"--which are
proving difficult, but solvable. REPEATING:

1. Before deadline there will be several very rapid updates.

2. Before deadline this thread will be modified.

3. Tricky--I need to post deadline--on this thread--but this thread has to be "moved" before I "load" on AMZ--AMZ spiders are immediate/fast--and will 'unload' a book under certain/many conditions--not good--will solve.

4. According to moderators I can leave 'teaser' thread in public view, which I will use as an invite to join forum.

GENERAL NOTE: ON COVER/S/--I have quite a few that I like--those above are two of my favorites--concur that the gun/hand speaks best to general audience--but very common to 'relaunch' books with new/different covers--
more on this later.

--finallyhere good to see you and thank you. Hopefully I can scoot past the pure luck part of all this. We shall see.

--DWwolf concur on skeleton glove. Many variations there, and many colors, and many different 'text'/s. Working on that now.

--10/22Plinker--the plan is that after move to darkside, book should be available....very very very shortly. I don't want to say when, because after 'loading' books on AMZ for instance can take anywhere from one hour to four days for it to be available. Usually only a day or two, but no hard fast rule.

--OldCorps--that is exactly the feeling/vibe desired from the star cover--and there is a 'face' in the shadows, subliminal but on purpose/designed.

--htfire much thanks and getting close.

Ok back to work, the witching hour is here.

Dad was a Methodist Preacher for my whole life, he retired at 65+ (almost). He tried the grape juice thing, the church fussed. At the time, he threatened to mix it with Malibu and call it the Sacraments.
He uses "the Sacraments" on his fruit cake still. Who cares how it tastes after the second bite.....
Got myself in a heap of trouble due to that wonderful mix, more than once. Dad laughed, mom....well.....
Solved the problem, switched to Tequila........
DC, eagerly awaiting! The covers will tell you which to choose, you have a way and know what I mean.
Still happy to have the words, always a pleasure to laugh and know I'm not alone....

In my humble opinion, I would like to see a combination of the two covers.

Like the skeleton glove but the finger off the trigger, just doesn't seem to fit. SHTF ready better describes your book and calls for Stage 1 ready.

I know the cover is not unimportant but it's a darn good story that will stand on it's own merits. I think it's already been said that covers can change. Use the best idea you have for the cover and see if it warrants a change later. Personally, I don't think there is any cover that can do justice to the superb writing nor do I think that even a bad cover will hide the genius inside.

That being said, I do like some version of the skeleton glove and I do like the drama of the mushroom in the desert. Both tell a story.
