Hi everyone I have a quesiton on reloading and Im lookig for help. I wanted to know what all do I need to get started in reloading. Im putting the links to what im looking at and will need help on other things. Thanks
Ok those are the two presses im looking at. I like the price and have read good things about them. I would like some feed back on what one offers over the other and what one I should chose. Im to new to catch something that it might not come with over the other one.
Im also looking at a LEE scale for $20 bucks at MidwayUsa.com and if you know of another scale that would be better please tell me.
Also please tell me what other tools I will need from cleaning to loading that I will need to get started.
Ok I fixed the links not sure why it did that. Any info I can get on these two presses pro's and con's. Im not sure if I might miss something with one over the other and if one comes with something better then the other. Thanks everyone for help.
i load a lot of rounds and i use some lee stuff i use lee carbide dies but the rest of my stuff is rcbs or mec, if i was goeing to buy a progressive loader i t would not be a lee it would be a dillon and nothing elese ! i find a lot of theroputic relaxation in loading one at a time .
Im going to buy the book ABCs of reloading and also I have a guy in my area that has been reloading for 45 years said he would help me but we seem to never really have time to get together more so on my end.
The Dilion presses are nice but man are they high. I thought the 550B was for only pistol cals maybe im wrong. I get their books all the time so I will look again.
We also have a place that sells used presses and they seem to have a lot of Dillion, RCBS and Hornady ones with a few LEE's mixed in. The guy at that shop told me he could fix up something used to help me out and save money but I think I will buy new with a warrenty.
I know if and when I do buy im going to buy a reg scale and a digital one to use with it, what kind of scales is everyone using.
Never loaded on the Load Master. But I have loaded several thousand rounds on a Pro 1000. They are good presses but not the best press to learn on. The pro 1000 is an auto indexing press with plastic gears so it is difficult to back up if there is a problem. There is a pretty good learning curve to figure out the quirks.
If money is not a problem the Senator has the right idea. Buy the Dillon 550B and never look back. I sold my Pro 1000 and bought a 550B. Best thing I have ever done. The no BS warranty, ease of operation and built hell for stout. Save money in the long run and buy the best the first time.
My dad has a Lee progressive reloader and he loves it to death. No problems at all, it steadily and consistently punches out perfect rounds. Nothing wrong with the Lee products...
