I believe that's where the next great debate will be!

Most everyone agrees people should be able to worship as they see fit without any government interference of any kind. That goes to the very heart of the 1st A, the United States Constitution prohibits the making of any law respecting an establishment of religion, ensuring that there is no prohibition on the free exercise of religion.

Now we come to Islam!

It's my belief that the ordinances, commands and teachings of Christianity are conducive to the laws of the United States. As example we are told to pay taxes, obey the laws unless they oppose our 1st command to obey God but by in large there is compatibility with a few exceptions (prayer in public schools etc) but even then many Christian believers would stand opposed.

But clearly Islam has some major issues with American laws. Sharia, an Arabic word meaning "the right path," refers to traditional Islamic law. The Sharia comes directly from the Koran, the sacred book of Islam, which Muslims consider the actual word of God. The vast majority within Islam believes it's THEIR law above all other laws.

As a few examples:

-Trials are conducted solely by the judge, and there is no jury system.
-adultery: death by stoning.
-highway robbery: execution; crucifixion; exile; imprisonment; or right hand and left foot cut off.
-theft: right hand cut off (second offense: left foot cut off; imprisonment for further offenses).
-slander: 80 lashes
-drinking wine or any other intoxicant: 80 lashes.

If I recall Saudi Arabia chopped off the heads of some 151 people last year alone, some for drug offenses.

My question is; how do we reconcile American laws with what many call barbaric laws coming from directly from Islamic nations?

It seems to me to be irreconcilable differences to say the least. Your thoughts....

It's "predominantly" blue, right?
