Question Does anyone in Oz(ish) want a free computer that needs love?)

Advertise Here

Long story short.

I bought a new computer. ( tricked out i7-7700k or something with an ssd and all bells and.. you git the idea)

My old one needs a "home"
I bought this one in about 2009, for my purposes I'm done, but rather than leave it in a box for 5r tyears, or throw it out...
(it's just the case and guts, as for a monitor keyboard, speakers you are on your own)

I'm giving it away to a good home. *free*

1) I play World of Warcraft. (this thing will run it as is at about 15fps
2) the computer I'm on right now...
a. AMD Phenom II 955x (3.0 I think, but can overclock ALOT)
b.12gigs of ram,
c.old Radion vid card ( thew Nvidia is going in the livoing room comp)
d.700 watt power supply
e. Windows *eww* 10, I'll give you the code.
f.old HD works fine.
G-z. It needs love, the heatsink fan is loud and doesn't work too well.
I smoked in my old place... the insides need care and love, a vaccume, some Q-tips, and rubbing alcohol I think would work wonders.

In short it's a great computer that needs love It would be perfect for someone with a bit of knowhow. If you want to game some lighter stuff will do it fine, the ram is DDR3, so its getting dated BUT it has slots for two vid cards. ( Nvidia gtx 950s are cheap and what I had in here)

Post in this thread or shoot me a PM, I'll meet you at a MickyD's or police station.

I don't need it, but it's cool you're giving it away. Just gotta ask, where is "Oz"? I'm a Wisconsin guy, but its not clicking? Oshkosh? Ozaukee County?

Thank you for asking, (It didn't fit in the title)

Ozaukee county.

I asked around, no one wants to clean it. ( smoking cigs is very bad... the brown buildup and lint need to be taken care of) nor know how to overclock it, it could go 3.2+ easy with a proper heat sink, I ran 30fps in wow with the 950X Nvidias.

It's a great little box I just don't have the time nor the desire to put work into.

The plan is if I can't find it a home, is move it to the garage, buy another monitor, and a wi fi card, so IK can have it to work on the cars/use as a TV.

then again it is WI, I'll have to bring the monitor inside 3/4 of the year...

If you truly don't want it, have you thought about giving it away on Craigslist? Or are there still charities that take them? Sounds like it's good quality and may go pretty easy. I understand you maybe worried about privacy concerns, but you sound like the kind of guy that could wipe it clean pretty well, plus you should have those same concerns from people you don't know here. Good luck!

Here's what I just purchased for that computer:

AMD Phenom II "Black" x6 1100T processor.
8gb/matching ram (total of 16gb)
.....And 2, 600gb 10,000 rpm SATA-3 Hard drives.

Will wait and see on the video card. Let's see what this Radeon card can do first.

Can't wait to "Geek bench" this thing.
