The UN ATT will have no affect on the USA, anyone sayin it will is speaking purely out of fear and paranoia.

Also do ya'll do realise if they ever push a new AWB(which they wont) there will be no grandfatherin of weapons so stocking up out of fear is foolish.
Because our government upholds the Constitution already?

I don't trust the government, the Supreme Court, and certainly not the UN.

An AWB also will not happen for the reasons I mentioned in my first post. Republicans have the house, the senate is practically deadlocked and there are so may gun stores/manuf's today that to pass an AWB would forces those companies out of business thus passing it would be career suicide for anyone wanting another shot at the senate/house.

Combine that with the fact that gun owner ship is a an all time high and the amount of people wanting gun control is at an all time low means it wont happen.

Even if they tried it would never get past the house.
The error in your logic is---- What does "our Constitution" mean. Remember these people are for a "flexible" interpretation of the Constitution. I know what the founding fathers meant. It sounds like you also know what the founding fathers meant. But these folk in DC don't care what the founders meant. They have made impotent several of the parts like the fourth (taking suspected drug money and property without a court finding) and tenth (nearly every gov program that interferes with states rights) amendments. The first is under assault ---like political speech. The second has so many "common sense" laws that clearly violate the second. Try getting a handgun in the Peoples Republic of Chicago. Again I read a national news report about the methods they are trying to use. With our Supreme Court Obozocare ruling I don't trust them. Too many 5 to 4 verdicts. I do hope the US House of Representatives will stop any attempts at backdoor control. But if the article is correct they won't have any power to stop this. I would like to find the story but I have to go to bed and I just cannot remember where I read it. I think it was WashPo.

I think the most likely gun restrictions in the future will be with regards to the size of magazines.

OBVIOUSLY! But, it was always a republican idea, Kennedy was NOT the first to speak of it....he just agreed with the GOP premise that it was the only way to make an economy grow.

Calvin Coolidge is the president that actually proved it (lower taxes and reduced spending) works back in the 1920s.

I didn't say raising taxes was the answer. Someone did say lowering taxes was the right thing to do.

How do you know? You don't know they are too high if you don't know what the ideal tax rate is. Maybe we're already below it.

If you won't identify the ideal tax rate, then you can't claim we're above it.

Me too. I have been worrying about this one. What does the NRA or other second amendment groups say?

Many posts here talk about our constituion superseding any treaty that may come along. But stop and think about one very important fact. Time after time through bills or even executive orders, little by little our constitution has been whittled away at. We do not enjoy the same rights as our founding fathers. And when you say it will never happen here, that is exactly how it can and will happen.
Don't forget our wonderful pres putting out the executive order not to talk bad about him or whoever he or the secret service decide. "Freedom of Speach"?
