One written for your area is the best bet. Peterson is the generic standard. It's not bad, but I've never found it to been very helpful either. I have close to three dozen books. They all have their good points, but the one that will be the most helpful is one for your area supported by back up information on the internet from a university or government website. In my videos I recommend viewers contact the local chapter of the Native Plant Society. There is always someone there how knows about your local edible plants and you can usually learn first hand and for free, or a nominal charge.
