Anyone have a decent lead on where to get some .22 Hornet rounds?
Being hard to find is one thing, Gander Mountain wanted $50.00 a box. I asked the older guy at the counter if that's all they had (4 boxes) and if there was any less expensive rounds and he was kinda snotty about it so I left.
I was traveling through West VA the other weekend and found them for $39.00 at a combo gas station/store/hunting shop and bought the three the clerk had...
Hornet ronds have NEVER, EVER een cheap.. You're better off reloading your own.. You'll get better accuracy, for sure as I've found out with my hornet..
If you don't have a reloading setup, might I suggest a Lee reloading kit.. You can get one for about $150(they were about $100 when I got mine, not sure now of the price), with one free set of dies, and their manual.. All you have to do is get the powder, bullets, and if you saved your brass you're all set..
Yeah I am kinda thinking if you got a 22 Hornet or some other variation you NEED to be reloading! I was looking for this ammo today myself and they didnt even have any, much less 4, 50.00 dollar boxes. But what an outragous price!!!
Reloading materials are on the way as I type. I was just seeing what the rest of the country was paying/availablity of this round. TY for the inputs, sincerely.
Glad to here about you buying reloading gear. 22 Hornet is an easy round and if the gun is tight you may not ever need to full length size. That means the brass should last and last.
Graf & sons has in stock,
PRVI 45gr for $17.39 for a box of 50 . And Win super-x 45 and 46 gr for $33.39 for a box of 50.
