We on the boards are constantly considering shtf situations and "preparing".
Shtf and survival can come in many guises.
By accident I came across this youtube and I could'nt stop crying. Talk about survival of a small kid to young adult under incredibly adverse circumstances and yet be able to go after a dream.
I somehow think this is fitting to see at Christmas eve. Because there are so many of us on the board, from not only America, but other places. We are kind of all people.
I hope for all of us that true joy will come our way and that we can share joy when we find it.
Sorry I'm the Grinch. The show was edited to be more appealing, but the truth is that he had formal voice training while he was in arts high school. It doesn't diminish the fact that he was homeless at one point in his life, but his voice just didn't spring out from nowhere. Source
So what I am getting out of this, is that if you are not prepped for SHTF and are a small child you can look forward to living through it and being on your nations version of 'idol'.
Thank you, the story is inspiring - and interesting, too. Much more interesting than reading the usual weapon discussions or debates about some absurd SHTF scenario.
Thanks - I went through a few kleenexes. I was feeling sorry for myself - but this sure shows that I have nothing to complain about = period. Thanks for sharing Daisy.
If you have a soul then there was no way this story could not touch it. I do not know the song he sang but it truly touched my heart and soul. Having been homeless twice in my 50+ years I know what that side is about. I wish this young man a wondeful life and pray that God can use him to touch and inspire others.
Here is the wiki link that translates the words of the song. This makes it even more moving and even more appropriate for Christmas. I'm now going to lissen again!
The lyrics are near the bottom. Right above the lyrics it says that Sung-Bong Choi (the "homeless singer) sang this and his rendition has been viewed 14 million times since June. (p.s. and the next 20 views were mine)
I've been trying to find out what happened to the singer Sung Bong Choi, and finally found a place with an email.
So I emailed and asked. Got a really pleasant response, he has just come back from America on the 23rd.
Then I found this interesting youtube from the guy who found him. It's like God Moves in Mysterious Ways and is a wonderful story in itself. It kinda made me consider that survival is part character, part stamina/persistance and part luck or God. And there are Some GREAT people in the world.
Enjoy the guy who knows most about this from the beginning to right now.
