EPA chief resigned over alias email accounts

Seems she is resigning over fake email accounts. Not that they admit it.

She was said to operate under the name "Richard Windsor" -- the use of those accounts has since drawn the scrutiny of Republican members of Congress, as well as triggered an audit by the EPA inspector general.

A judge has ordered that 3,000 of the 12,000 emails involved will be released each month.

Horner said the increased scrutiny on the alias account, coupled with what those emails might contain regarding the administration's alleged "war on coal," likely contributed to Jackson's announcement Thursday.

I just know without a shadow of a doubt Bush authorized those fake accounts.

She resigned because it is 100% illegal for them to do this. As a past webmaster for federal agencies, we had to be VERY careful on email - we could not even use "[email protected]" because it violated law.

She resigned so no charges would be filed. You'll probably see her pop up in another agency in the next few months, or get a high-paying job as a "Green lobbyist".

If what she did is illegal she should be charged irregardless of whether she resigns or not.

This is the BEST NEWS I've heard in a long time. Granted - the next head will likely be as bad or worse - but I have Ms. Jackson on my dart board... ever since she robo-called me (can you say taxpayer money?), to ask for my support for something idiotic and that I was opposed to. The computer hung up while I was still mid-screaming fit...

I just saw a little blurp on NBC news about her resignation. Absolutely nothing besides she resigned. None of her happy horse hockey about spending time with family and definitely NOTHING about scandal she used illegal email accounts.

Even for democrat they ought to be a little concerned the way the media covers for this administration. When Clinton was in office they cut him some lack but didn't lock step shy away from a juicy scandal. One of the benefits of having a Republican president is they hound him unmercifully and pounced on just about every little thing. It makes for a more sober and responsible executive. What do we have now? The three monkeys, see no evil, speak no evil, hear no evil. Disgusting.
