Not sure where to post this so I'll start here, my wife and I are looking at taking a trip to the northern half of Wisconsin in the first part of June. We are looking to go kayaking and do some fishing. We are looking for a cabin on a lake or a resort. We are trying to stay away from the dells though. Thanks!

Minocqua area is really nice. Theres a chain of 28 lakes (28 may be wrong but it's a lot of lakes ) In that area that is full of resorts, boat/jet ski rentals and if you want something else to do there's 100's of miles of trail riding for UTV's/ATV's etc. Apparently the fishing is great but fishing and ADD don't go well together so I can't speak from experience.
