No one has responded yet so I want to be positive but I can't be supportive.
Your body has a minimum number of calories that it needs as input to function normally. If you drop below that minimum for too long of a period, your body has a defense mechanism that reduces your metabolism in order not to "starve".
If you are average age, height, and weight for a male then consider 1800 calories your minimum and for a female consider 1200 calories your minimum. Those are minimum numbers and most likely you should think higher numbers. In certain instances, under doctor supervision, for specific purposes, a more limited diet may be useful, but that is the rare occurrence.
1000 calories or less will probably be counter-productive, try eating sufficient amounts of macro-nutrients (i.e., fat, protein, carbohydrates) to allow you to exercise and lose weight while becoming more healthy.
Losing weight does not mean you are healthier, its just means the scale went down. Not to be too flippant, but if you chopped off one leg, you would weigh less but I don't think you would be happier.
Make it your goal to be healthier, not to weigh less.
I'm not being a smart -**s; we (you and I and a lot of others) have been brainwashed into thinking that the end-all-to-be-all is weight loss. NO! the goal is to become healthier.

Reason: explicitly define "macro-nutrients"
