the last 2 episodes have been pretty good actually and I didnt like most of the first ones. the last one had them underground and joe had to feel his way through a cave, pitch black and most recent they were on an island. both had cody scared and thats always funny to see joe has had to really step up and tow the line. i have more respect for him now.

The scene with the two of them doing friction fire lighting should be posted on youtube entitled how NOT to do friction fire lighting, a total joke.

Tell the truth... On a deserted island, 3 strands of grass hanging on a cliff, would you think it was a destress call? I know on FB, Cody is pushing to get Joe's fan base built up. He keeps saying that this is the best season and most watched ever.

Well, even bad TV will provide little bits of info to build on, but to be honest, even with Dave I think TV survival shows were/ are on the way out with 2012 ending up a flop. With or without DC, you can only watch them do there thing in the same places in different parts of the world for so long. This is where DC has the advantage in my opinion. He no longer needs Dual Survival to make it work for him. At least not as much as CL does.

This show is just awful now. If Cody says it is good he must be taking a page out of obamas playbooks.

I like the show and have found it interesting and saw a few useful tips. I liked Dave in the original version but I think Joe is the guy I would want to have around in a real situation.

I guess if one wanted a perfect real survival show there seem to be many here that think they can do better. I'm sure Discovery would be interested in your proposals and show outline.

using pace beads on sheer cliffs or sleeping out in the wide open to spot a possible rescuer in the middle of the night makes you look like a dumba@@ Rambo wannabe.

Yukon men, Mountain men etc are not great viewing.
I like Yukon men just because a number of them use AR15s.

The show takes away the folk tale put out be the anti gunners that the AR15 has no sporting use.
I know why the people on the show use the AR15 as it will work from -50 degrees to plus 124 degrees and has no wood to shrink or swell in rain or snow.
it can be used with heavy gloves and is very rust resistant.

It can also be taken apart in the field with almost no tools.

plus i like Dual Survival because they change the location every show and you see the different tricks for the different climates. and they make there fires in different ways every show,

Hi Campers! Below is an email I received that demonstrates the sweet irony that even arguing can save lives. The Spring equinox is coming up, Spring is in the air, grab another tissue if you have allergies and get outside and enjoy it! Cody

How watching your show saved my life......

Cody:

On 03/04/12 at 8:00 pm I was sitting in my living room watching Dual Survival. My husband had just left to go help care for his elderly mother. My daughter and my grandson were in their bedrooms. My husband made sure every door was locked down before he left. At approximately 8:15 p.m. I heard the garage door open. At that time you and Joe were arguing about your and his way of doing things. I continued hearing noises in the garage so I lowered the volume to go check who it was. As I opened the door that connects the hall way to the garage 2 intruders took off running. According to the officers who came to take the police report the intruders had forced open the garage door and got to the door and could hear you and Joe arguing so when I went to open the door they thought it was you and Joe so they took off running. So thank you gentlemen. If it wasn’t for you Cody and Joe who knows what would have happened. Now I am enrolling in a class to learn how to use a firearm. We have had many break-ins into our home before, but this is the first time they got this close. Again, thank you for your arguing.

Default dual survival

I like all the show's. Cody with Dave and now Joe bring the dynamic of differant approaches to survival. They show the correct things to do and how to keep in the basic elements of Survival. cody bring's to the table the primal essence of survival, while Dave and Joe bring the military background. With two people with differant practices there will be some arguements, just as there would be in real life with a few of us together. But the basics are still there, have oxygen, keep warm, way's to make fire (always good), hydrate, then forage for food. I like the new dynamic, as they are focusing on survival and getting out. We all know that you don't risk a injury for food and I feel that in past shows this was done more for entertainment. To me, I rank Dual survival better than Survivorman (though I did catch Les's new 10 show and liked it alot), and is 100 times better than Man vs. whatever. IMO!
