Prepper or Survivalist

I'm about 40% prepper and 60% survivalist as I'm big on skillsets.

Don't they mean the same thing? :/

Prepper; usually implies a hoarder.

Survivalist; implies skills to allow you to go survive.

Homesteader; is a prepper and survivalist, who has gone on to focus on food-producing, power-producing, etc.

I'd have to go with Survivalist, Prepper just sounds to happy for SHTF, starvation, stinky water, roving gangs....
