Can regular batteries be used in solar lights?
I have some deck solar lights that hardly get any sun in the winter. Would still like them to come on and be bright at night.
Can regular batteries be used in these or would somthing happen to them since the fixture is trying to charge them? Thanks BIH |

Hi,
By putting regular batteries in your solar light, you’ll be trying to charge them and they cannot be recharged, the seals will break, leak will occur and will destroy your solar light. More info about solar light batteries Here |

I would say no. The would start leaking as they are not designed to be recharged.

Yes, if you match voltage and disconnect the wire from the solar panel. So long as the photo eye is in the circuit the light will turn on at dusk and back off during the day.
