Guns, anti-guns, control, oh my!

Understandably, in the past few days, there have been many, many people commenting about gun control, etc. Is there some way that at least most of these can be amalgamated into one place? Some are in the gun section, some general discussion, and many in the political section. I recently logged in and almost the whole page was something to do with the recent tragedy vs gun control.

Considering how touchy the subject is and how many people are outraged over the recent events, if we were to move all of it to one thread, half the forum would start posting it again because they couldn't find it and the other half would claim the government deleted their thread in an attempt to cover it up.....

Grandma, I'm starting to merge them as I run into them. But there's still a lot of work to do and I'm a bit short on time. So it's going to take a little while.

Maybe let it run it's course for a couple days? When things calm down merge it all...but it may be beneficial to give the community a little time to process things...
