Anyone deal with Kahr's customer service before? I'm thinking about buying a kahr cw9 if anyone has any opinions on those. It's in good condition and only 300 dollars. is this a good deal?
Nice guns. I much prefer the Kahr's trigger over that of the Kel-tec PF-9 and it feels better balanced than the Taurus 709.
Kahr suggests a minimum of a two-hundred round break-in period. However, I have yet to have any problems with more than twice that down the pipe.(FMJ and JHP)
Haven't had to deal with Kahrs CS as of yet but I've yet to hear any horror stories across my internet/gunshow/range travels. Sometimes no news is good news.
As far as the one in question. At $300 its way below even wholesale. If it passes the smell test(i.e. shoots good/ shows no sign of excessive wear) I'd say snatch it up. If you don't like it, you could probably flip it at any local gunshow and break even(sell to dealer) or even make $50(private sale).
Thanks. I want to get a small 9mm for CC and was looking for a Kel tec PF9, but they are impossible to find. I posted on craigslist looking for a used one, and had a guy offer me the kahr. I'm pretty excited if its in good condition. They look like pretty good guns
Definitely. I dont want to be on the news being a victim of the next craigslist serial killer. Planning on meeting in a big parking lot during the middle of the day. Plenty of people around and hopefully someone with me.
Good gun.
Kahr CS is generally about as good as the other major manufacturers, but as always YMMV in any given case.
Note that Kahr only does 5 year warranty now, and it states it is for original retail purchaser only; I some companies' warranties say that but will honor any owner, but dunno about Kahr.
I have had great customer service from them, immediate contact. They sent me a free mag when I was missing my original from an online gun purchase. Also other issues have been handled well. I have worked with them 3 or so times, all responses have been satisfactory and timely.
As far as smaller CCW guns go, I love the CW9. I broke my dad's CW9 in for him, fired about 200 mixed rounds without a hitch. He has since put another couple hundred through it as well, with no issues. I've found in my subjective opinion that it has less perceived recoil than a Glock 19. At least to me. Inspect it throughly, and then buy it if its good. And then run like hell, because you got a steal....
