NO!

You (kalifornia) want to ignore federal laws on invasion because it's a "state issue" then **** off! This dam is in your state, YOU pay for it!

You got it right. Oroville is part of the State Water Project. If it happened at Shasta Dam or Bullards Bar, those are part of the Federal system and it would fall on them to fix it.

Yet.... The feds will cave and fund it because "it's for the children"... Or some other stupid reason.

"California asks federal taxpayers to fund repairs at dam"

Wow. Simply wow.

California redirected the federal repair money provided, several yrs ago.
They felt that giving money to non-residents (illegal aliens) was a higher priority, that repairing vital infrastructure.
Plus, they believe in global warming so strongly they had convinced them selves it would never snow again.

I would not trust them with any federal funds. Not even one dollar.

The Feds should seize control of the Oroville Dam, and hand it over to the US Army Corps.
Then tear out the stupid overflow channel, redesign, rebuild it properly.
Then rename it after Trump.

Coupled with indictments and prosecution for the political nitwits who wasted that repair money, it would be a starting point. Poor decisions have consequences, and we need a mechanism for applying them to politicians and bureaucrats....

News is finally calling this what is it. Democrats failure to govern. Thanks Gov Brown.

And they are estimating the repair cost will be 5 (FIVE!!!) times the original cost to build it! Hopefully California can fund that on its own. I think zero federal dollars should be spent as long as they choose to ignore federal laws.

There are 2-3 million people living in the potential flood area below the Dam, and 30 million who would be affected financially if the whole thing collapsed.

I don't believe the rest of the US should pay for Govenor Brown's incredible stupidity (both Pat Brown and his son Jerry Brown).

But I don't to see want lots of people get hurt either.

Personally, I honestly don't think Brown or the rest of the "Liberal Establishment" there give a hoot about lives lost or the millions affected as long as the $$$$ keep coming in filling their coffers. For them the concern is the now and what $$$$ they can get from it, screw the rest!
