Default Bank Drill Feb. 15th and 16th

Advertise Here

A link

So I emailed my bank in regards to this information. This is the response I received..

A***** Bank conducts and participates in emergency preparedness exercises/drills throughout the year, however, we do not publish this information outside the Bank.

so they make this sound like a common occurrence....would love to know how much truth this holds.

Also, anyone thinking about taking out a little bit of cash for next weekend just in case?

Always good to have enough spare cash outside the system either way.

If they don't advertise this it will cause a panic.

Default All The Things Bankers Will Not Tell You

We have lunch about once a week up here in SW OR with one of our local bank managers. She and her husband have become good friends. When I have banking business at her bank, she and her girls always make me feel $rich and important$ which is important to this non rich and non important Old Coot.

We are scheduled for our next lunch next week, like the day after tomorrow. I will ask her then about the non announced "bank drill" scheduled for the fore mentioned dates. Understand, she has in the past politely refused to answer my many questions. This might be another. Hummm. HB of CJ (old coot)

My Degree is in Emergency Management. I've written these types of training exercises.

post-Katrian it's pretty much a requirement.

Should something go down... Don't expect there to be a warning.

Edit: it could always be that they are being shut down and will open up Monday morning "under new management"
This happens more often than you think.
But if so, it shouldn't be a problem.

Always have cash enough for a few months of basic expenses.
