Dave & Cody gave Discovery their FIRST #1 Rated show ever. Notice I said “Dave & Cody” not giving either one any preference because I truly feel that they made the show what it was together, not that either Dave or Cody was a singular star.
Cody was boasting about how the show got its highest ratings ever, but it still didn’t make it to number 1. The 2nd week we didn’t hear a peep from Cody did we. I’m sure if the ratings were strong, he would’ve been on his blog bragging about it and thanking the fans. Does anybody know how to get the show’s ratings? I’ve tried looking online, but can’t seem to find them. |

EPISODE 3 PREVIEW! Hey guys! Just got this preview on Episode 3! Episode 1, they seemed to “ease” into their first time out and took the easy route by pitting Desert Expert Cody Lundin against, well, a Desert. Okay. I guess they had to break Joe in first. Alright, so now, Episode 2, time to think outside the box and put Cody & his new partner to the test! Finally! Something that will really test Cody’s metal! Where do they go? Africa. Again. But wait, there’s bush around, so the South African Bush is not “all” dry arid land. Actually, there was less water in the South African PARK (not exactly the wilderness) than there was in the Desert in the first episode! Plus, for some reason, they changed the name of this episode from to: “On The Menu” to “Untamed: South Africa”. Okay, okay, so now that they’ve done Desert thing again and the Almost Desert thing, now it’s time to take the training wheels off and REALLY put Cody & Joe to the test! It’s time to reveal to the world how “…Dual Survivor was meant to be…” and take the show to the next level and on to new heights! Right? WRONG! Episode 3 is “in” (drumrollllll) THE NEW MEXICO CHIHUAHUA DESERT! You’ve got to be kidding me! Another Desert in less than 3 episodes! Really? Why don’t they just rename the show “Cody Lundin’s Desert Adventures!” or how’s about “Learn & Re-Learn Desert Survival With Cody Lundin: AGAIN!” or why not “Cody Lundin’s Desert Survival All-Season Intensive!” already and just get it over with! That’s it. The fat lady is singing. Dual Survivor is going into Entertainment Hypothemia! |

Awww C'mon, if they don't do a desert location then how is Cody supposed to look good? They need to find someone inept in deserts or Cody will always be playing the bickering housewife making shelters and prepping dinner for his macho military man.

Unfortunately it has to be that way. Say you put any combination of Dave, Joe, and Les together, there would be no duality or drama and hence no appeal in the eyes of MSM chemistry. Things would just get done too fast and efficiently. Yes the whole concept of the dual approach is interesting but in most cases the duality is "right" versus "wrong"
Simply put, if you want to slow the ship down you deploy the barefoot anchor. |

I think the new guy looks and acts like the old guy, just way more theatrical. It seems as if they took the best parts of the show and amped them up. It also appears after the first few episodes that they are after the Bear Grylls audience.

I think the style difference of Dave and Cody worked well, but now it is just silly. I have always noticed the background music "Dananana dananana" when something remotely exiting was happening. And the "native american" narrator which makes it just a bit more silly, but it has still been a good show in my opinion. It is not easy stepping into some other mans shoes, but I just do not see what Joe have to offer to the show. He is clearly not a "survival" expert. He might know how to take cover and how to communicate with trained soldiers and lead a squad, but those are not the skills needed for this program imo. I have only seen two episodes of the new season, so he might still prove me wrong.. but I doubt it.. |

Nice. Like the Mercedes Benz Unimogs. And, I do love the Land Rover Defender 110's too. I personally owned a Ford F-250 Custom Monster Truck that was 9' tall with an 8" Superlift Kit, 42" Gumbo Mudders and a Mustang GT 5.0 V-8 with open Flowmasters. That thing was illegal from 10 ways to Sunday, but the only times the cops would pull me over would be to talk about the truck and to take pics of it! ![]() |

No reasonable survivalist (no matter how much they could appreciate and respect Cody's personal decision to go barefoot and in shorts with more jewelry than tools) would last with Cody long without blowing their top. |

of the DS3 episodes. What a mistake. It makes it easy for us to compare the DS1/2 shows to the DS3 shows. There really is no comparison. It's almost like they are trying to sabotage DS3 so that people could scream for Dave to come back and they could bring him back on despite the past mistakes he did. It's almost like they want an excuse to bring him back. I'm sure they are reading the internet chatter as much as we are chattering. AND, I'm sure they realize how Dave is alive and well on the Dave Hater Forums and how his presences is almost overwhelming all the DS3 threads that were established to prop up the new show. Seems to be having a reverse effect to what the Haters wanted. |

Well the direction of the show makes sense considering over the years Discovery has continually pushed out educational shows and science or wilderness shows for this reality TV style smut about exploiting resources in a drama filled over-glorified job. Seriously, how many shows do we need about gold and fishing?
That's my rant on it. It would be interesting to see how much influence is Cody's doing and how much is Discovery's new direction for the show. I really would rather see Dave make his own show with someone or solo than to return to the DS pony show it is slowly becoming. |

No wonder Cody hasn't been bragging about Dual Survival's Ratings after week 1. Looks like everybody tuned out. It doesn't even rate on the top 25 of cable shows. When Dave was on Dual Survival, it regularly rated at #1. In fact, it was Discovery's first #1 Show. Geez! I expected Gold Rush to rate, but even Amish Mafia got listed. Okay I just saw episode 3 (Into The Frying Pan).
First 2 questions... 1. Did Cody really say "I'm his B[femaledog]TCH?" ...and... 2. Why didn't Joe just climb up the ladder on the right side of the mine instead of having Cody help him up with a wire? |

I've seen the new version and it's just not as good anymore. The new guy may have been a high speed operator but I'm not impressed with him on the show.

Answer to Question #1: Yes.
Cody did say he was Joe's B[femaledog]TCH. ![]() |

At least the man knows his place. Sensing a little bromance in the upcoming episode? Maybe a little tactical foot massage? They teach you in the military to get naked with a buddy in the bag if your ever hypothermic, that might explain why Cody keeps pushing for desert episodes
