All we got to watch was footage from the fire aboard the USS Forrestal.

I went in 99... Drill Instructors were our only entertainment. And cleaning. And Drill. Lots and lots of drill. And IT. LOTs of that.

If you didnt go to CHurch on Sun, you were on a working party till lunch... then we did some drill and cleaning.

But no, no movies.

Semper Fi.

I think Brokeback Mountain is a navy film.

Young troops obviously have way to much time on their hands now. Now that they no longer have to spit shine their boots or shoes, or polish their brass or iron their uniforms etc etc.
My son is currently in ROTC and when he came home for the first time I told him to bring his boots home and I'd shine them up for him. Imagine my shock when he said they don't do that anymore. I couldn't tell if I was mad or jealous because I had to.

I'm pretty sure it was the jealous angle.
