Seriously though, my wife gave me the idea of how to do it and be fair.
Paper + numbers written on pieces + bowl + pick one.

That's too deep for me bro. "Chance" is going to dictate who I pick between 1-200.
I suppose using a random integer function in Excel would be too easy?

=randbetween(1,100)

Maybe using a random number generator online could be even easier?

I'm not really stressin' it. This is a good bunch here.
I'm sure that when I come up with a winner, there'll be no griping or whining.
I'm going to count on all you guys to make sure that I don't mess up.
Worst case scenario would be a tie, but again, there are remedies for that.

I'd say in the event of a tie, the person who posted the number first gets the prize.

I thought about that initially. But what if someone changes their number?
I got it...whoever got the number first, and doesn't have an edited post.
Right? Can't get no fairer than that.

No way. Something like this calls for a cage fight to death.

I did after all say that people should go through the entire thread before picking their
number so that they wouldn't pick someone else's number in the original post.

Also, I'm going to keep the number under 200 to increase the odds
of someone winning with a definite pick instead of whoever's closest.
If we get over 200 members going for it, then I'll raise the choices by
10 over the highest number of participants.

I've noticed edited posts, only from reading the original post and recalling it. So, how can you tell if a post is edited? I'm not seeing that, (must be to obvious for me to notice).

EDIT: test test to see if it shows

A post will say "edited" at the bottom when it's been edited.
At least I can see them on my posts that I do.
Either way, I'll do this on the "Honor System".
I'm not worried about it.

I may be able to help you out there. I got odds and ends that need homes.

Now the rules have changed, and are going to continue to change over the course of the week. You can take me off of number 19, as I do not like to enter into games and contests were the rules are constantly changing. I will even go back and delete the post where I claimed my number. Good luck with the contest.
