satcom (satellite communications) is my profession. Not the dish network or directv stuff, but the kind of thing soldiers use for command and control while looking for bad guys and the like.

Chose luchar for two reasons: 1. In Spanish it has a double meaning either to fight or struggle for a cause (isnt that what were all doing?) 2. To wrestle (a former wrestler and now coach of wrestling). 93 is the year I started dating my now wife of 12 years.

I hope mine doesn't offend anyone. I have been using chat forums (and IRC) since the mid 1990's and have never used anything else for a nick. I was the head Admin over at the worlds largest Microsoft featured Community and dedicated 64bit forums called PlanetAMD64 (Now shut down tho thanks to the niche market it was directed at, 64bit computing). Although we shut it down in 2011 (opened in Sept 3rd 2003) because of low traffic I had once had over 270,000 registered members at its closing. I have registered at hundreds of technology sites over the years always using my normal nick and Avatar. Although I am an extreme computer geek I have a Scorpion tattoo on my left arm that I got when I ran away with the State Fair back in 1983, I was only 17 at the time so it was a big deal to me. I caught a Sand scorpion in the desert here in the central part of NM back in the mid 90's on one of my extreme hiking adventures and loved them every since. Snakes (even rattlers), Scorpions, Lizards and even Tarantulas and I become a child again and have to catch and inspect them, but I always release on the spot after studying. I NEVER harm them in anyway unless I am hungry of course. I like Scorpions because they were the only creature found that survived Atomic test blasts and its cool that they glow under UV lighting lol. So, some good online friends in IRC started calling me the Scorp and it just stuck with me.

I use this sign } to represent the pinchers, and this --' to represent the tail and stinger, if you didn't already figure that out. It just works for me...

I do not know what other nick to call myself as this is the one I am accustomed to using over and over again at any and all forums I register on. 17 straight years now and I have no desire to change it, its who I am.

I use this name at TheBlaze, as well as on some Ohio centric firearms forums (Buckeye Firearms and Ohioans for Concealed Carry namely), as well as on my own board/website.

Not sure what made me think of it, was just musing one day over something I read and thought "You know, if the ghost of Jefferson were here today, he'd be inciting us to revolution". It kind of stuck with me long enough for me to remember it when I made it for a site. The rest, as they say, is history.
