Very cool. Go check out rv.net/forums and you will learn a bunch there about RVing. They have a section on Travel Trailers.

totally jelly of your trailer. My uncle has a 24' airstream he has totally modernized/restored, I love the thing. I would like to own one, alas, I dont see it in the books for a few years though.

Methinks you done went and did good!!!
One thing on airstreams - they run on rubber torsion bar axles that go soft after a number of years. You can get the replacement axles for them, and if the trailer is 20 years old or older likely the axle rubbers are shot. As a BOC (bug out cabin) the last thing you want is to not be able to get a blown tire off because it won't clear the side of the trailer! Otherwise you can't go wrong with an airstream - damn fine quarters! |

Thanks for the replies. I removed the original seat covers and drapes and had them cleaned.
Like my cars, I want to keep it all original. Should have it back together tomorrow. I'll post a pic of the interior in the next day or so. |

Wow, that's great! I don't know if you have kids, but if you do, the teenagers will kill to live in it. They love being "on their own" even if it's in the driveway. LOL. Good score!

We had that same vintage back when I was a teen (eons ago). We used it at the beach all summer and every spring and fall we would take it to the mountains of Virginia.
Years later it became my brother's college "pad" -good times ![]() Sadly, it was lost in a barn fire where it was stored waiting for him to come home from the service ![]() Gosh, you got quite the deal on that. Enjoy, it's a keeper Chatelaine |
