I've been wanting an AK or AR type of pistol for awhile. This is a great price. Are the Zastava pistols worth a crap?

Seems like a great deal until you see they only include 1 mag (its shipped from century with 2) they want 48 dollars to ship (I put in my address) and then pay your FFL for a transfer. Ill save money paying the local gun shop markup. Great gun though.

I like my Draco and have another Zastava...I have heard they were not going to be making the mini-draco anymore only a few regular Dracos like the one i have..I have shot at least 100 rds thru each with no problems...The Zastava PAP M92 fit & finish is better and it has the hinged dust cover instead of the lift off like a traditional AK.....I have shot both and i like them both...In my rural area it's nice to fit in my atv trunk......I just have a feeling after the first of the year there will be a price hike..I just paid $650 for my other Zastava PAP M92 !!!
Both are nice if a person wants a AK pistol....

Me too, I've got a Draco (or two) and just got a M92PV. Frankly, the M92PV seems to be a better pistol just from my inspection of it. My Dracos shoots well, but I had to go through them and do some mods to smooth out the action and control trigger slap.

The finish, and action are much nicer on the M92PV although I've not fired it yet.

I think the M92PV is a heck of a deal!

An AR pistol is easier to shoot effectively because of the buffer tube(allows you to have a cheek weld). I would want at least a 10.5inch barrel in a 5.56.

If you want one just for fun I think I would go with the AK. It would make one sick SBR. 7.62x39 is also better from a short barrel.

I've been watching them and it doesn't seem to take long for them to re stock.

Funny, this is a Zombie Thread (started in 2012) J&G currently have them for $399.
RabbitRandy's link seems a better deal but I am not familiar with that vendor.

Got one as a truck gun that i've turned into a SBR. Fits under the seat or in a back-pack so its a great deal. Shoots good enough for $399

I got one from vizardsgunsandammo.com for $429 shipped & couldn't be happier with it.

It came with two of the EXCELLENT Yugo 30-round mags with the bolt-hold-open (BHO) feature.

I picked up a simple Condor two-point sling with clips for $6 & attached it to the itty-bitty front sling hole & beneath the pistol grip with loops fashioned from 550 paracord I had in my BOB.
Simple, practical & dirt-cheap.

No muzzle brake, no plans to SBR it, just keeping it as is --- a compact & hard-hitting SHTF weapon unparalleled in any type of CQB situation.

The felt recoil is nowhere near as bad as some would have you believe & sighting-in without a shoulder stock is a breeze if you're old enough to remember the proper use of a rifle sling & elbow.

I got ahold of a Glaesel 3/4-scale hard violin case, lifted the blue velvet lining inside of it & got to cutting on the hard foam beneath that.
I was able to make cut-outs for the rear sight, charging lever, pistol grip end & room for two mags that sit underneath the M92 when it's in the case.
The mags are wrapped in a pair of my wife's ankle-high athletic socks to keep anything from scratching anything else.

Nothing rattles or moves when I'm carrying the case, even if I flip it upside down.
Pics to follow.

Here you go:

Through an unusual set of circumstances, I managed to pick one of these up from my local FFL today. ($379+tax) with two Yugo magazines. I happened to have a 10 and a 20 round Tapco mag and found that I liked them better than the 30 round Yugo. The second Yugo will end up with my Yugo Underfolder instead.

The fit and finish are very good and the fore end comfortable after a little TLC. I was thinking of adding a Angled fore grip but it turns out to be totally unnecessary IMHO.
I did add a reversed piece of inner tube to soften the grip.

Attached picture is eight rounds, touching in three groups at 21 feet. I had to adjust the windage before getting these results. It is a very natural pointer but the rear sights will need some tweaking.

As someone else just noted, the recoil is very manageable. I was expecting much more. It is about the same as my Rossi Ranch Hand with .38 SPL, much lighter than with the hot .357 loads.

The safety is extremely tight. If it doesn't loosen up a bit, I will need to bring out Mr. Dremel, probably when I open up the rear sight a bit. It has a flip rear and front sight for a three dot system but I didn't like it a bit.

I give it

The safeties are ALL tight.
I flipped mine all the way up, after opening the hinged dust cover, and did a bit of LIGHT bending to the front & filing to the underside of the safety.
Problem solved --- it's now smooth, but positive.

How are you mounting the rear sling?
It almost looks like string.

Machine what?
A sling-mounting plate?

I have a lot of 1/8" aluminum, some pre-bent, that I could have easily drilled out & cut to shape --- but I really like the idea of using the paracord loops for their strength, freer range of movement & cost-effectiveness.
Plus, I already had it.

Whatever gets a sling on there is fine.
