Two guys with no experience in commercial gold recovery and very little or no business plan other than hope & dreams. They think you dig a hole and your sluice is full of gold, nothing to it. Flying back to the states burns up money and gains nothing.
They mention how hard they are working but they seem to hire out every job done on the site. These guys need a real job to make money not chasing rainbows in 3rd world countries hoping to get rich fast. The best person on the show is that great local mechanic that can fix anything! I would enjoy hearing the locals opinion of the two Americans. Its a great new comedy show and thats about it. I feel sorry for the wives who believe in these guys. Red |

not so... these two were part of a three man team that spent years in gahna at a mining outfit previously, thats why they already had their own excavator and ore processing equipment near to them. That hardware was from their last project.
not to say they are experts, because it seems obvious they are not, but they arent totally green either. |

Watched a couple episodes - why would you leave your family to put your life at risk when you have little idea what you are doing. You are doing to a lawless land. First clue, Chinese are mining "your" claim and there is nothing you can do.

They said early on that there was no way they could pay that HUGE of a debt off even long term with 9 - 5 jobs. They are THAT desperate. And now they are even DEEPER into debt not getting the gold they need to even cover operating expenses.

Funny....show says they made millions in real estate and now they owe a million in debt. Dumbasses could have been debt free and secured the future of their families, but they must have gotten really greedy. Now they risk losing their families.......

These two are total morons from my home state. They live in a really nice area of the state and like many there, dont want to really work to get out of debt. They made and lost money on the housing bubble, and like many people that make money by being lucky, they have confused their luck with being "smart". Idiots, flaming, lazy IDIOTS. I dont care if they dig up a bunch of gold, money doesn't make you smart. Like others have pointed out, they dont even have good work ethic, they are just a couple of schemers that are willing to risk the money of others.
Truth be known, they money they gained initially was borrowed from banks to do real estate projects. Housing bubble burst...they got the debt. |

I love the show...Anything to do with gold and the jungle.......They are probably getting investors just from the tv program...Lots of bills they are piling up...Seems like at one time they could have scaled their living back with a lot less house and less expensive cars...I agree with others they just seem to waste money....Hope they can pay everybody off..

Does this strike no one else as an absolute embodiment of colonialism?
These two white guys get money from a big fat cat white guy to go and exploit gold from brown people (even ripping them off for a profit when not physically extracting it from the "brown" country). Meanwhile, anytime someone disagrees with them, or is the wrong color and takes a dump in the woods, they instantly bristle up for a fight because they do not understand them. The whole "making the Chinese villains" thing is absolutely ridiculous. Every time they see a Chinese guy (who is probably making like $.25 a day) they act so defensive its shameful. This show is not good. Also, I'd like to point out that they are like a million in the hole, and live in neighborhoods that look insane. I am not anything in the hole, and I don't live like that. Whose idea was any of this? It perpetuates a lifestyle that is false paid for at the expense of the exploitation of foreign lands, with borrowed money, by folks who act incompetent. The only thing I can think of which morally compares to this is 50 Cent's movie "Get Rich or Die Tryin,'" which shows drug dealing and rapping as acceptable means of getting out of the hood, and disregards education and formal employment. It also shows jail as a finishing school that includes business opportunities. They are both fairy tales for a$$holes. |

The last episode was interesting.
The land owner that turned down big machines cause it would put him people out of work. Also the teaser for the next episode looks like they made a sketchy gold deal and got robbed? Why are they trying to mine when there seems to be more money in buying and selling? |

I only watch because i m waiting to see them fail. These two are the biggest idiots I've seen. Its no wonder they're a million in debt before even going there.
