I think for the most part the people fighting the wars are not the people we should be killing. There are generally just the poor slobs doing somone elses dirty work.

I have to disagree. Especially when it comes down to the suicide bomber. While they are doing "someone elses" dirty work, they are "TRUE BELIEVERS" in the cause.

I had to go through CIED class last week.(Im still at SLC). Most of the time the young are recruited. And the Recruiter is usually a family or tribes member.
Their motivation is not money!

I dont know, takes some kind of balls for a suicide bomber to do what they do. Not like the fat pieces of **** who sit at home and ask the government to send someone elses children to kill and die for their causes. Bombing the **** out of Iraq did nothing to protect America... all it did was bankrupt us and kill our children. We are weaker and less safe now than prior to going to war in Iraq.

I read a follow-up on this story in Time. She is psychologically a very distressed young woman. I expect the transition from an Afghan village girl to being here in the chaotic US, where she is a media figure, must be terrifying. May the Lord protect her since her family could not see fit to.

There's a pretty good movie called Syriana that touches on recruitment and motivation of bombers. it portrays recruiters as upscale educated Moslems sponsoring poor street Arab young people in indoctrination schools (hadrassahs?). The kids who have never been valued or well treated are introduced to the concept of a martyr's paradise, 72 virgins, lots of lamb to eat, etc. Seemed like a reasonable explanation. Poor kids must be awfully naieve.

A man without something to lose have always something he can win even in a bad situation ( Think we could call it calculated risk )
