His and Hers ARs

Recently decided to build myself an AR. Went with a New Frontier Poly lower and mated it to a YHM upper from PKFirearms. Finished this setup off with some Magpul FDE accessories; MOE Plus grip, AFG, MBUS rear sight, PMAGs, and rail ladder covers. Also went with an ATI stock, and Bushnell TRS-25 red dot. Not really looking for top dollar accessories as this rifle will hopefully never see a war zone, but it should be reliable enough just in case.



Wife really liked it so she asked me to build her one too. Went with a New Frontier Poly lower as well and mated this one to a Sabres Defense midlength upper also from PKFirearms. To keep the weight down on it I opted for a Magpul MOE handguard, VFG, MBUS, PMAGs, and MOE grip all in Foliage Green. It's very light compared to mine and has noticeably less recoil due to the midlength gas system. Even better, required literally no adjustments to zero. I was shocked.



Well under $2K into these combined and 200 plus rounds through each one.

I recommend you try something - move the VFG on yours forward and put the rail cover behind it and see how it feels.


(Then maybe put one on the wife's)

I have discovered Easy Mag™ magazines. Metal....tough...and easy to load.

I actually ran it this way for a little while but moved it back because it now has a folding bipod mounted to the front. Both positions feel pretty good though (that's what she said )

Got the wife a Primary Arms multi reticle red dot with a cantilever mount. She's going to end up with a nicer AR than me.
