I have a number of AA minimags i have purchased over the years, I have really been impressed wioth increaed amount of light have obtained by using the maglite retrofit kits that are available, that said though I have experienced the push button rear switch to be rather finicky at times

The upgrade kits I bought have the LED and push button but they are standard 3LEDs. This new one is on a small circuit board and is a flat surface mount type. |

The only thing maglite has going for it is you can buy them easily at a store.
Overpriced, underpowered, little to no heat sinking, plastic lenses, no current regulation, bad reflectors, poor anodising, and plastic switches. If you are looking for cheap your much better off with a Romisen, Solarforce, or ITP. Which are all cheaper, brighter and of higher quality. Heck for $30 you can buy a lower end Fenix like a E11 or E21. It seems my life goal on this forum is to steer people away from the maglite. |

I just got this 3 C-cell Maglight from Amazon and I think it's great. Low price, powerful, current regulated, excellent finish and quality, AND made in USA!
Just 25 bucks, with free shipping to boot. Also makes a good weapon... |

I have an XL50 which has served me well over the past few years,
but I can't wait until they come out with the Mag Tac later this year! 250 Lumens, basically an XL Series on steroids. http://s3.photobucket.com/albums/y63...=MOV054431.mp4 ![]() |
