S&W M&P shield 9mm &.40

Anybody read or seen one of these yet?? My wife is going crazy already..
I would love to hear some hands on from someone on here.

Don't have it yet, but one of the wholesale distributers that I use shipped one out to my shop last Friday.

It's a 9mm an I should be receiving it either Monday or Tuesday.

Don't remember what price I was quoted, but I don't think it was to high.

Looking forward to seeing it myself as I think it may be a good seller.

Bought one Friday, stopped at my range and shot about 50 rnds before I made it home, called my friend who does phenomenal trigger work on M&Ps. The stock trigger is much like all M&Ps except the reset is better/fixed.

I will be getting full slide serrations as well. The Shield will be a perfect choice for a lady. It is controllable and very accurate.

Real nice pistol, I got to handle one the other day. I still prefer my CW9 but I have nothing bad to say about the M&P series of weapons, and this is from a GLOCK guy.

How do you like it side by side with the 9mmC?

The Shield does NOT replace my 9c. Both are keepers and have their place. I am a small lady and there are times that the 9c prints too much. The Shield does not. Both shoot the same and recoil is the same too (YAY) same accuracy as well. The Shield feels better in hand being it is a single stack. Eventually, I will get an extreme grip reduction on my 9c after I got to play with a full M&P over the weekend. S&W really hit it out of the park with the development of the Shield. It's awesome for such a small gun.

Kris, you mentioned earlier that you had the sear "replaced." So you're saying the M&P after market trigger parts work in the Sheild? Interesting.

That could make me sell my Kahr and pick up one of these. Just love my full size and compact M&Ps, and if I was able to use readily available after market parts that would put me over the top on this.

I like the idea of slim pistols, but the 40c felt much better in my hand. Nice having the extra capacity also.

Got the shield into my shop today from the buster brown truck. I liked it. Comes with both a compact mag and a full size mag. Felt good in my hand. Should be a good ccw pistol. Trigger to me felt better than the standard m&p pistol. Looking forward to getting to shoot one sometime.

My friend at ATEi makes sears for the M&P which are superior to Apex. The sear in the Shield is the standard M&P sear.

Looks to be the same size as the Ruger LC9... striker fired vs hammer. This will give it a nice short trigger compared to the long DAO trigger on the LC9

Sounds like a great CCW 9mm option. Wonder if it'll win 'Gun of the Year' awards like the LC9 did?

It should win! I just tested mine after the trigger work post ATEi .. SWEEEEET !!! I am not a fan of the looonng hammer pull, especially with a 9mm. So great to see a slim design with the striker fire

Fondled one today at my LGS. Decided on a new PM9 instead, as the Shield was a lil big for pocket carry. Sweet lil pistol though

You point us to a crappy site that says "Coming Soon" and declare the parts superior to the most respected M&P aftermarket manufacturer in existance? Sorry, I'm raising the BS flag on this.

APEX has the best customer service in the industry bar none and pioneered everything from sears to striker blocks to custom springs, 3 different action kits, a fail resistant extractor, the reset assist mechanism, and finally a completely redesigned aluminum trigger with a functional safety. To top that off they are working on a replacement barrel as well. All engineered and manufactured from the ground up. Randy Lee's parts have been accepted and even embraced by some law enforcement agencies.
