How so? One's outward appearance toward others can readily be changed for the most part, and may a play a role in survival depending on the situation. Doesn't sound silly to me.

If i have enough warning, Hopefully I can disappear quietly. But until I can disappear UN-remarkable seems the way to go. There will be enough Billy-Bob Bad Arses going around that the world won't need me to play one.

definitely harmless , perhaps even fake the whole scared and helpless routine until I figure out how the chips truly lie .
Wouldn't want to get popped buy a rogue cop or anyone else who may percieve me as a threat .
In this area gun ownership is rare , so I don't want to be marked as a potential savior , or someone to be hunted for potential supplies .
Also , you don't know if the police or military may try to hang on to their power , or worse yet , wouldn't want to atract the attention of any criminal elements that may want to take advantage of the situation .

I remember hearing about cops disarming civilians who were guarding their gate community after huricane katrina, might be better to close the gate and watch from cover. I vote invisable.

Meaning we will most likely and God willing be better fed than other survivors walking eventually people will notice that... and then things probably will go badly Crazy mobs and the such

Well, it's up to you how much you eat. Staying lean would have many benefits from blending in better to making your stocks last longer.

Going on a diet would seem to be a very good choice.

Remaining unseen is another good choice.

Another possible "look" might be one of mental instability.

Blending in is the key to survival.
That is why I always chuckle when I hear about these "tricked out" BOV's.
That is just a good way to draw trouble (whether it the shooting or begging kind) to you.

Well dress/gear wise go for unremarkable. But it also has to do with the way you carry yourself. Look at a group of folks in uniform. You can pick out the weak and the ones not to be F'd with. Does not have to do with size or fitness as much as attitude. Nice thing about already being confident is you can tone it down if you need to blend, can't go the other way. Would you call that Grey Bad Azz?

Hey, I resemble that remark.

After 3 or more months living in a tent on my remote mtn retreat I do look a lot like Viggo in the movie "The Road" And I liked that movie mainly because of the bunker / underground shelter scenes where they were safest and happiest.

In the city I blend in but in the mountains I look the way I wish, which is in work clothes, sometimes in camo. After a TEOTWAWKI not exactly sure but IF any do actually dare to come onto the BOL and especially near the bunker they might see a scary dangerous sight. That is If they can get close enough.

I think I have lots of practice with SHTF scenarios by camping, working and Living on the mtn retreat from mid June to Nov. every year since 1999.

Wish everyone could do that but I bet most people could and would not do that and get desperate for fast food and Wal-mart.
