I'm sorry, mein!
Only thing I gotta say is- "Easier to ask for forgiveness than permission." Wifey just shakes her head at me every time I bring home a "new toy." Still trying to get her to shoot a long gun......... |

LOL in more ways than one thats what I keep telling her.. she isn't buying it
she keeps saying that don't even bother concealing my 5" model so why would I want to carry the 6" model.. women will never understand! |

I have convinced her to step up from her Sig .380 to a full sized 9mm, mainly for redundancy reasons, and of course cheaper brass.
I'll probably toss the Sig and a couple boxes of TulAmmo in the lockbox behind my pickup seat "just because." Good luck on getting your new 1911, I'm trying to justify another AK or a SKS right now....... I'll probably be asking for forgiveness again here pretty soon. Does your local shop have a layaway program? Easier to justify and/or "hide" a big purchase if the drain on the bank account is spread out over time...... |

ITS TIME TO MAN UP!!!!!!BUY THE GUN!!!!!! On the way home stop somewhere and smash your head on a solid surface(draw some blood)......continue home....when you walk in the door act confused, disoriented, look at your wife and pretend to not know her or where you are at.....she wont even notice the gun if you are a good actor

Do you hunt? You could tell her you want to get into handgun hunting, and that you'll need the velocity gain of a 6" bbl...

Gotta tie that one extra inch of sight length, assuming it is a long slide and not just an extended barrel, to something specific.
Make it very clear that with the extra accuracy, you are much less likely to shoot her by accident than with the shorter sighting plane of the 5 incher. Just a thought. And no. I'm not married. Now you know why.

Take her out this weekend and have her pick out a new Coach purse. Then stop by the gun shop and pick up the new gun. You see, you don't need to understand why she has a clost full of purses. Just like she doesn't understand the guns. However, at the end of the day you are both happy. Go figure.

Quote:
Baer 1911 Premier II, 6" Model, .45 ACP $2090.00 Para makes a double stack 6" but no single stack to my knowledge. No idea on price though. RIA makes a 6" at $700, but it's RIA, some don't like them. There aren't a lot of 6" 1911 manufactures. Were I at your budget, I would save up the additional ~$500 and go with the Baer, personally. I'll dig around to see if I can find some more 6"... |
