I was watching Fox news this am and read on the little ticker at the bottom of the screen and also saw on the Fox site that the government has most definetly been monitoring and interacting with users of both survivalistboards.com and americanpreppersnetwork.com The ticker and the article both said these sites and others like them had been on the governments radar for a while now and several different alphabet agencies in Washington were developing plans on how to deal with the growing prepper movement. The govt rep said it was totally uncalled for and goes against American values for only certain people to have the ability to survive. This person mentioned the people on foodstamps and welfare who did'nt have the means to store food or preps and it is the responsibility of all of us to share and help those in need. Figureing on a certain amount of resistance part of the taskforce's plan will be a complete and rapid disarmament of American citizens should an apacolyptic scenario arise. They realize that there will be some bloodshed, but they plan on cutting off all governmental services in order to bring those who may be holding out or hoarding i.to rapid compliance. Anyone caught holding back after a certain time frame they said will be dealt with swiftly and harshly.

Do you think they monitor us? Hell yes they do.

I am sure that the feds are monitoring this site and many hundreds like it. Oh, I am sure many of us are certainly on government lists of various kinds. However, I don't think the government has the time and financial resources to kick in the doors of every person with odd political views or survivalist tendencies, even if they wanted to. They do a perfectly good job on a daily basis of derailing alternative political movements by the use of their puppets in the media and academia. Arresting folks is just too costly. Brainwashing is just so much easier.

I am in western montana. I prep like a good boy scout amd beyond the basics, knowledge and adaptability is your greatest preps. I guess back in the day there was some serious militant groups out here and in Northern Idaho and apparently they are still out here either in smaller numbers or just keeping quiet. In SHTF, I wonder who I should worry about more...the militant groups or the gub? My initial thought is that with where I live, this will be the last place the gub will want to deal with, and in SHTF, the coastal high population areas will keep the Gub busy anyway. Maybe I should worry about the greedy ones in general. Who knows?....

Go back and re-read the terms. It's far more strict then other sites and there is a clause that the owner will give out your personal info to the government if needed.

Seriously though, if they were harvesting intel, they won't necessarily use it to pound on your doo unless there was a reason. This would just be additional "evidence".
