Regarding the above verse - this is specifically why Paul brought up the fact that David spoke of yet another rest that remained to the people of God, for if Joshua had given them rest, David would not have afterward spoken of ANOTHER day.

Going back to Hebrews chapter 3, Paul said:

Hebrews 3
11 So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.)

16 For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses.

17 But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness?

18 And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not?

19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

Remember, of those that came OUT of Egypt, only TWO made it into the promised land -Joshua and Caleb.

Some verses for all of us to remember:

Titus 3:5-7, "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life."

Romans 4:1-5, "What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found? For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God. For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness."

2 Corinthians 5:21, "For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him."

1 Peter 3:18, "For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:"

John 3:16-18, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."

I think we all need to be reminded and stay focused. Without Christ we have no hope.

That is your Sabbath. God's sabbath is only on the 7th day. God, blessed the 7th day and sanctified it. He did not bless and sanctify, "Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday"

By sanctifying the Sabbath, God made it a Holy day. By keeping it as any other day, it makes the Sabbath, unholy. God does not like that.

Genesis 2:2And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.

3And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

God further says to "remember" the Sabbath, not remember, "Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday"

Exodus 20:8Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

9Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:

10But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

11For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

God told us twice, that he blessed the Sabbath and made it a holy day. I refuse to undermine God's authority by claiming it to be as any other day.
