Question about wheat and wheatgrass

I have some wheat grass that is growing inside in a pot. i have heard that you cant grow wheat berries indoors but you can grow wheat grass(what i have now). why cant i grow wheat berries? what will happen if i keep watering my wheat grass?

you can grow wheat berries. there's no problem with doing that. as far as what happens when you grow wheat grass.. it just matures and turns into wheat.. the grass is best if juiced around the 7th or 8th day of growth.

do i have to do anything special to get it to produce berries?

jobot, planting wheat is like planting grass. You just let it go until it makes a seed head which is what is harvested as grain. I often have wheatgrass growing where ever I blow the chaff of my wheat. If I don't mow it, it makes a head. I don't see why it wouldn't grow indoors.

YW jobot. Give it a try. What's the worst that can happen? Trial and error is how I learned to grow rice indoors.......
