Airborne viurs's are nasty to control, but you can read up on how people used to protect from them. What I was saying (or trying to) is that it's interesting to see people who don't want government intrusion, wanting it when it suits them. Self sufficiency is an important goal for all to strive for 9seeing this is a survival board, I assume that most want to survive), but it means being prepared to do things different in an emergency.
Herbal, I appreciate where your coming from and am the first to step up and take responsibility for me and mine. I believe completely in practical self sufficiency. The thing is, in the interest of doing that, we are all subject to working with the data that is available. Unfortunately, it appears it is bad data (for a number of reasons). In some ways I think we would be better off using local/regional information rather than trusting in the CDC. A laughable fact given that tracking and informing the public about exactly this kind of thing is their charge.

I guess some info is better than none - or is it???? Prayers and best wishes to all.

Exactly what my dr. said.

OK, so now I'm thinking the CDC stats are completely under reported. And the cases that they are reporting are likely all very serious cases.

I cannot believe there is a reporting structure like this.
This is how the gov't typically works. Why are you surprised? I made an appointment to get a very rare H1N1 vaccine this weekend at a county gov't building. Even though I have an appt I expect to wait at least 1 hour due to gov't inefficiency.

The swine flu was a manufactured desease which got the corps. that make the meds to make it. The fed now has to make up statistics so that the meds can be sold to the unsuspecting public for a nice profit.

Pretty much I see it as the fed testing out a way for the corps to buy into the nationalized med system idea by the fed saying "we can manufacture a desease and mandate it's meds to the public by taxation."

My friendds an ER nurse and they have stopped giving the meds months ago. They only test for Type A and only admit you if you temp stays above 100 for adults or above 102 for kids, after Tylenol and Motrin have been given. It's only then that Tamaflu will be given.

The treatment is the same like they said. 1 dose of Tylenol and 1 dose of Motrin at the same time. Reduces temp and inflamation and pain/ache reducer. Plenty of liquids. Then alternate Tylenol and Motrin every 3 hours, so you're taking each every 6 hours.

If it persists then you get admitted.

So save yourself time and money and take your temp first. If it's high then take the meds as above. If it persists for more than 4 hours then head to the ER.

Sitting in the ER for hours "WILL" expose you to the flu and you may not have it to begin with.

If your temp is very high then go immediately to the ER.

The reason it's treated the same is because only the fed makes a difference. Of course o should get another nobel peace prize for stopping the pandemic, since it's the thought that counts. Eventhough he isn't a doctor of any type.
