Well, I saw it on Doomsday Preppers, so be easy on me,, this guy was making fuel for his wood stove using what looked like shredded newspaper and leaves that he would make a pulp out of and then use a mold to squeeze the water out. Once dry he said that they lasted about 30 minutes.
Does anyone have a link to how to make the mold or the process for making these things. Looked a lot easier then using wax to make fire starters.
Here is another version: "Reuse your old newspaper in a way that gives you some free fire fuel! This article provides two methods for making logs from old newspapers"
we just tear the paper into strips about 2inches wide and then soak in water for 24 hours. Take a large handfull and work into a ball shape, squeezing out as much water as possible, then leave them to dry out for a week. Pretty soon you have a mountain of recycled 'coals', they burn well and def bulk out your other fuels. For a nice touch at christmas, we put some smelly oils in the water the paper soaked in, filled the house with ery festive scents when burnt.
We have a comercial fire brick maker, but in comparison to this method, it is fiddly and the bricks seem to take forever to truely dry out at the centre.
Could you add other papers in there like used tissue, paper towel, even toilet paper. we're talking survival here.
