I'm in Mt. Hood-Parkdale. I would like to join up with a group within a reasonable distance of my area. I am not complaining however, fuel is expensive and a viable consideration. Please let me know if you have any details. Take Care, horky11

i hadn't heard from you in awhile, i joined the Oregon Training Group, they have members mostly strung up and down the valley. they do a field training (FTX)/meetings of some sort every 3rd Saturday of each month. i have attended 3 exercises so far. there are no dues or specific equipment requirements. I am also frequenting the Albany Rifle and Pistol Club in Shedd, on Saturday's; the boys are taking a free marksmanship class that provides all materials. I joined earlier this month and now have range privileges and can take guests on the 6 range areas. call or pm me if you'd like to get together or hear more. Take care, Tim

Hello we are dialed in for that camping trip march 22nd-24th; I will be arriving late friday or early saturday. I've spoken to the park, they aren't worried about a rush or a lack of space on the 23rd.
For my part I plan on doing a bacon quiche that first morning (sat.) and probably a reflector oven for biscuits (and gravy) on sunday.
I thinks it may prove educational comparing BOB/vehicle kits and assorted gear.
I plan on bringing a box of books to peruse; Tappan's "Survival Guns", Di*ckey's "Passport to Survival" and Ing's "Pulling Through" as well as some back issues of ASG/Survive and Backwoods Home, etc.
I'll be tenting it and will be hauling in firewood. I may toss in a canopy for inclement weather.
If you've posted here or made inquiries about the trip i am sending a PM to everyone to make sure the word is out.
As things develop I'll continue to post.

I would like to meet up with like minded preppers in Central Oregon. How would I go about this, can you post a query to see if there would be any interest in this?

    Thanks,
    Ray

hello , I did a bit of checking the local parks here in salem, i thinks our best bet for the meet and greet will be next saturday march 31st at 11:00 am at Minto Browns Island. There is a covered picnic area at the end of the road, a playground and chem toilets. i did not reserve the shelter as it was too costly at this point, although i have rarely seen it used. Never passing up a chance to play with one of my pack stoves there will be hot water available. We can chat for as long as we like or adjourn to a local eatery, while you're in town i can help find the local sporting goods/prep stores if you'd like. The link to the park is http://www.cityofsalem.net/Residents...nd%20Park.aspx as i look at the map on the link the shelter is at the end of the road with a parking lot before angling to the right several times and coming to a dead end, hope to see you there
