Hey man where do you race/ride? Texas here taking a break but AMSA, TCCRA, TORN probably a couple more I am forgetting. Sold 300EXC and woods-out a YZ125. I like it but 450's effortlessly lose me in the nasty stuff. WR250R for fun and an Elefant I need to sell. Ride on!

My wife's decision? I'm not offended, but just curious why you'd think that? :)

Edit: Though she DOES like when I wear my horns. :D:

Yeah the KLR is pretty nice, I started out with a honda trail 70 when I was a kid after watching my dad go crazy on some old yamaha 250 enduro's. My sr year in HS I got a new honda NX 250, I really loved that bike, just wish they would have made liquid cooled in a 500cc.

LOL!!! If I looked like that, I'd be reeling in some 80-yr old oil tycoon so that I can inherit his money and buy an island. Nah, I'm just some guy with too much time.

I’m SURE I’ll have a blast! My biggest issue is the inconsistencies of the terrain compared to what I am used to. I have a “Roadrace Brain” (I used to run Pro level Motorcycle Roadracing) and there are a lot of things that are hard wired in my brain that don’t translate very well. Like I brake like a roadracer, which washes the front in the dirt and puts you on your head like right now! And I run a reverse shift pattern on the roadrace track, 1 up, 5 down (can’t change it on the dirt bikes). That tends to get me into trouble sometimes. There is nothing worse than going for a WOT upshift and changing down a gear opposed to up. You tend to get spit over the bars doing that! The power doesn’t worry me so much though. I’m used to 200rwhp 375lb bikes. They try and kill you every chance they get, just like the big 4 stroke dirt bikes do, LOL. As long as I keep the wheels pretty close to the ground I should be alright……..ish.

    Wish me luck! Thanks

I raced BMX when I was a kid, then Mountain bikes when those got “big” and I still can’t ride MotoX without killing myself or doing some trail riding without at least hurting something. I have a lot of respect for riders that can keep it on two wheels in the dirt.

I’m leaving for a dirt bike trip in KY in a few hours. I’ll be riding a very leaned on KTM450 “Something or other” that a friend is letting me use. That thing is a beast! I hope I come back in one piece.

    Later!

I know of 2 kindreds out in Western TN. One, I don't have contact with anymore, and the other, I just haven't talked to in a couple months. Both are Folkish. But there are others around.

Not a problem buddy. I just wish half the people would at least read it. Knowledge of this repeated historical tactic is the first step. Maybe the next step for them is "Hooked on phonics". I.D. "Oboma" :)
