LOL I knew there was something funny about those records, Kaufman and Henderson Tx aren't in W. Texas but just East and South of Dallas, probably about 80 mi. or so South of where your family settled.

Hi Tex, I've been digging thru some records from Kentucky and was wondering if any of these names have meaning to you; Hawkins, Davis, Lindley, Gray, Cannon, Hanks, Gallion, Lunsford (maybe Lunkford), Downey, Pennington.
Also, records show some of my family (father's side) moved from Ky to W. Texas, Kaufman Co. and Henderson Co. in 1847.

    Hey Wyotex,

A friend and I are planning a run to the hills later this week. Deer and turkeys if there enough turkeys around to bother buying a license. He thinks a drought in your area may have knocked them back. What do you think???

We have been hunting the hills since the 60s. Just a pleasant place to go camp and spend some time together since he lives near Pine Bluffs and I in the Riverton area now. Seen the wildlife populations go up and down, but lately we are astonished at the great numbers.

I would like to credit the Forest Service because I see some active management like prescribed burning. But I am probably prejudiced because I am an old G-man habitat manager myself.

Mr. Tex I have not forgotten you but enjoyed your messages. Yesterday from 11am to 9pm I spent my entire time trying to fix 2 irrigation pumps got 1 up but after 4 baths while priming I still haven't gotten the other one hooked up back. Out at 7 this morning. My Daddy can't help except laughing at me while sitting in my truck. He did call some guys one of who I put in jail way back when. Good guys and they never held a grudge (I hope?). They will try to get to us between beer runs. I have your number and will call when this horseless and cowless rodeo subsides. Thanks Buddy S.

    Hi Tex,

My God I am so slow! It took me 4 hours and reading hundreds of posts to finally figure out who "Hostile Native" is. :)

Oh, and Scotty the "Muppet cow", what breed was she? How old was she when she was made into ground beef? I have never seen a cow with long hair like that! Except for the Texas long horns, I didn't know other cows have horns too. All these years I thought only bulls have horns. :xeye:

I registered a few hours ago. But I have to wait for the admin's approval, or maybe I must pass a waiting period before I can post. I can log in but can't post anything even in the "Welcome Mat" section.

I went thru 48 pages and saw no pictures as a member. Read tons of replies complimenting how wonderful your photos were but I saw none.

Thank you so much Tex. Do I have to be a member of that forum to see the pics? None of your pictures in that whole thread showed.

OK. I've registered, same username Kimmy (my real name actually). Can't post anything yet until the admins activate my account.
