Pretty unpredictable.
It did ring true to me. That was my childhood upbringing.. in rural America. Farm country.
If we needed something, chances are that a neighbor had it. lol If they needed something, we would help out if we could.
That included food, labor, information..
We didn't keep score. We were all in similar situations.
One day , a pie may just show up as a way of saying thanks, and that was enough.
That may be foreign these days. Things have changed due to decades of prosperity. Folks have been able to afford to be independent. That may change.
Something that may cause some folks to raise an eyebrow, is any term with 'communism' in it. Might substitute 'community'.. same idea, but has less of a negative connotation here.
Especially in the age of Obama. People are a little edgy.
