I figured your thread about long range shooting would eventually get ****ted up. Oh well. The reason I'm writing you was due to your post about shooting smaller MOA groups at distance. On the face of it, impossible due to all sorts of things. Yet I've done exactly that many times. Some chest thumpers talk about bullets going to sleep or the spin getting stabilized after it's shed some velocity. Blah, blah, blah.
I don't know how far you can shoot at your range but try this: Shoot a centerhold on , say a 6" bull at 100 and then try it at however far you can. I guarantee it's easier to quarter that target at 600 than 100. Then try it with irons or suitable red dot. I'll bet that's what you saw. One other thing and I mean no inference, we all tend to remember things out of the ordinary. Given the amount of shooting you do, keep track of MOA size at close and far with the same rifle and ammunition.
