Hi Doc! The Scruggs here again. Your post in the health discussion section of your remarkable credentials was most impressive. You, sir, are much too modest! My wife is an RN (geriatrics) and I had to ask her what all the letters for your qualifications meant. I guess that is an indication of my intelligience level!! When I first read your post, I assumed the fetal position under my computer table. I was informed of the dedication required to rise to the levels you have. Being into precious metals, I have earmarked a quantity of said metals for purchasing health care should the worst come to pass in the future. Only us seniors would think of such a thing, the youngin's will find out in due time! You will prosper in the event of any disaster. I am quite envious in that I have learned many skills but they pale in comparison. Do you have supplies earmarked for practicing your trade in the event of catastrophy? Magnified "Kudos" over and above the original one. I sincerely wished that I could find a health care professional in this area who was into preparedness on your scale. Little known fact - Scruggs hates talk of homeopathic treatments. I call them "homeopathetic". LOL. With the things I have had, ground roots and such would have not done me much good and I would have been dead several times over. You have to love the ones who think that the worst thing they will have to worry about in a disaster is an upset stomach or rectal itching! But, that's just an opinion. Later! Al the Scruggs.

Thanks for noticing my birthday DocP! Might I add that you are not that far behind me:taped. Now I have tendonitis in my lower leg:mad:! I tell ya, things start fallin' apart faster and faster. Danged youngins' in here talk about hauling 100 pound packs when we can barely drag our sorry butts around with nothing to carry. Will check in from time to time to make sure i do not miss your aging process:D Thanks again!

You are most welcome. LOL. It must be our age that makes us what I call Techno-Tards. Even a cell phone confuses me. I also enjoy the mature opinions and information you have posted. Sometimes there are not enough practical minded people in here. With your background, the stories you could tell would be amazing. You have the skill that will be most valuable in the bad times ahead. Some youngin's in here downplay the importance of the medical field, preferring to use natural remedies instead. They are entitled to their opinion but it is based on the fact that they are young and haven't had time to have any really bad health issues. Corpsmen saved my butt more than once 40 years ago. I came down with active tuberculosis only 5 years ago. The county infectious disease unit "investigated" and told me that I was exposed to it in SE Asia and it had been dormant in my system for 35 years until a sinus infection dropped my immunity and it flared into active. Then 2 years ago my appendix burst. Without knowledgeable health care professionals and powerful drugs, I would be dead several times over. My doctor is a Nurse Practitioner. At first he corrected me when I called him "Doc". I explained the Corpsmen and how we all called them Doc. A term of respect. So, your nickname in this camp is "Doc". Will check in once in a while. I am still trying to figure out how to put pictures in my profile album. Take care Doc.

Prag, I see that your profile says "Navy Corpsman". As an old Corps Marine and Viet Vet, please accept my sincere thanks and admiration for your service in that field. I do not exaggerate when I say that Corpsmen were nearly Gods to us! Also, your practicing in the medical field currently is equally as admirable. Kudos! (and a slap on the back!) Scruggs
