Rem, I hate to tell you this but I just read your post on shooting that 742 30-06. You pumped 60 rounds through it. The barrel is good for about 500 max. I know, I have a 740 and two 7400 models which are basically the same rifles. I just found out mine are 500 round barrels. You noticed how the accuracy started to wander all over the place as it got warm. That is because its is too light and made from sub standard steel. The 740 built in the 1950's is the best of the series. The 742 is prone to breaking the extractor and shearing the bolt lugs off. The 7440 like mine is no better. The 750 is a pile of ****. If I were you I would get rid of the rifle asap. I am selling two of ours and just keeping my wife's as hers is brand new. Iam looking at a new TIKKA VARMIT to replace the two worn ones I have. Let me tell you, Budget hunting rifles will not stand up to lots of shooting. Anyway The rifle will shoot fair accuracy through 5 rounds then start to shoot all over the place. Kingfish
