Hi, kevinthenurse. I just joined the forum this year. I would appreciate it if you would rejuvenate the Dehydrators Anonymous group. It seems to have slipped through the cracks. I am convinced that dehydrating is a very valuable method of long term storage. I see a few dehydrating threads here and there but nothing organized. Thanks, tiggeroo.

Thanks for the link. I am going to look into that ... more knowledge is always welcome. I assume you are waiting through the holidays before you start any new classes.
    Thanks

Hi Kevin, may I call you that? I showed dh your post and like you said, he has included more food and other provisions. He sends his thanks and says it's always good to see other bags, just in case he over looks something.
We were trying to get his bags weight down a bit when I read your idea using disposable tins, this will will help.
We live pretty much on the New Madrid fault and that is a big concern. His bag has to be carefully thought out if it decides to 'erupt'. He doesn't always work that far from home, thankfully. And like many, we have other concerns that could unfold, making it difficult getting home.
Sorry for being long, just want to say thanks! Kay and Al

Thanks for the info on the safety razor. I really do appreciate it. With the cost of blades and the irritation I get with the "new and improved" razors today. I'm going to give it a try. Thanks again

Hello! I was reading all of your posts and stuff on the deyhdrators page, and I was wondering if it would be possible for you to even explain to me how you would dehydrate canned diced tomatoes or etc..... Im new to the dehydrating thing but thrilled to know that I can do something extra productive with mine and make lighter food that lasts longer. Even if you only want to send links...ill take anything youll send me. Thanks a bunch! :)

Nice, I'm from FL but we've lived over here for a few years now. We're down about as far south as you can go, just a few miles inland near the FL state line.

Hey Kevin, thanks for your posts and appreciate the youtube link about using the double edge safety razor.

Do you know what part of the state you'll be moving to? If you're moving anywhere in central Alabama you're more than welcome to join our small Central Alabama Preppers Group. We have 1, custompara, from as far south as Millbrook.

each "Kit" was apparently packed by Ready Reserve Foods in Calif, and shipped here on Pallets. Each Kit is in a 24"x24" Box (slight Overkill, as there are 2 smaller boxes inside..)

The smaller boxes inside contain: 6 #10 Cans, and 24 #2.5 Cans. It is everything from Apple Slices, American Cheese Powder, Nonfat Dried Milk, Garden Peas, Mountain Stew, Oats, Farina (Cream of Wheat), TVP Beef and Chicken, Seasoning Salt, Apple Drink Mix, Spanish Rice, Navy Beans, and a lot more. Most of the kits (although not all) also contain a new Camp Stove and 16.4 Propane Bottle, Plastic Utensils, and a Sauce pan with Lid.

Ready Reserve advertises a kit with 30 #2.5 Cans for $235 with about $35 shipping... They also claim a 30+ year shelf life.
I'm asking $100 per kit, and would possibly go a little less if you want to buy SEVERAL. (Cash ONLY.)

I'm located in N.E. Huntsville, and the storage unit is out off Winchester Road.

If you're interested, you can call me at (256) 665-4348.

    Dusty
