    Steve,
The issue isn't having them, it's bringing them into the state. Calif. DOJ said I could have problems if I left the state with a hi cap mag and tried to bring it back. They don't want them in the state period.

    Steve,

I'm not 100% sure, but I think you are ok. I'll check and let you know by Monday. I asked one time at the range about California retirees and was told by one range master no problem, out of state, I'm not sure. I'll call California DOJ when I get to work on Monday for a straight answer.

Eielson lost their A10s a few years ago, traded their F16Cs for a bunch of As from the wolfpack that are a Red Flag Squadron now, Air Force is talking about putting the F35 here and leaving the F22s at Elmendorf.

thanks, I try to put a little thought into each one I make. I like never knowing how they are going to turn out till they are done. Amboyna has to really be one of my favorites. Each piece is so totally unique it's hard to believe it came from a tree.

I was beginning to wonder if this crowd here was even interested. Everyone seems more interested in $15 moras.

Yeah, I ended up ordering a Husqvarna w/ a 24" bar, for the same money as the 20". Worst-case scenario I can put a 20" bar on it, if the 24" is too much. The reviews on the saw were amazingly good. I think one site had over 200 reviews of the Husqvarna 460, and it had a 4.8 out of 5 star review, overall.

Hey Hungry- I had a RN plug in my .45 ACP seating die last time I loaded them. I wasn't sure about the RN plug, but it hasn't caused any issues yet with the XTPs (my set is an RCBS set as well). Honestly, I think you're right using the SWC plug, but the RN plug worked and I didn't end up with any serious OAL variations or damage to the bullets, and they all seem to be seated without any cant. Next time I load some I'll quit being lazy and swap out the plug! :thumb:

Paladin, I'm loading up some of the Hornady 185 gr XTPs that Hornady sent me. I've got RCBS dies in the press. The die set comes with two seater plugs, one for round nose and one SWC.

I'm using the SWC plug because of the flat face. It just seems to fit the bullet profile better. I am getting some very slight deformation though.

Nothing that causes too much concern, but I'm curious as to what plug worked the best for you.

    Thanks :thumb:

PS: what powder do you like for this bullet? I'm going to give it a try with 5.5 gr and 6.1 of Red Dot.

No, I was stationed at a lot of bases during my career, but Hill wasn't one of them. It's a nice base, though!
